လက္ယက္တြင္းႏွင့္ ယမင္းပ်ိဳေရးသူ-တင္မိုး

ေရစပ္သဲစပ္၊ အျမဲခပ္သည့္
သနပ္ခါးၾကဴ မပ်ိဳျဖဴ။

လက္ႏွင့္ယက္လည္း
မထြက္စမ္းေရ၊ ခန္းပါေလၿပီ။

ခန္းပင္ခန္းလည္း
စမ္းေရရႏိုး၊ ေသာက္ေရအိုးႏွင့္
မိုးခ်ဳပ္ေန၀င္ ယက္မည္ပင္။

တခါတေလ
စမ္းေရျမျမ၊ ႏွစ္ျမဴမွ်ႏွင့္
အိမ္ျပန္ရခဲ့။

အိုးျပည့္မရ၊ ဟိုး ေန႔ကလည္း
႐ိုးေကြ႔ကေက်ာ္၊ တာ႐ိုးေပၚက
အေဖာ္ေတြႏွင့္ ျပန္ခဲ့၏။

အခြင့္သာေသာ္
ဟို႐ြာကခပ္၊ သည္ကခပ္ႏွင့္
မျပတ္သြင္သြင္၊ စမ္းေရ႐ွင္။

ထိုခါတြင္လည္း
ေဘာင္ဘင္ခတ္အိုး၊ သစ္႐ြက္ထိုးလ်က္
ကိုးေခါက္ဆယ္ေခါက္၊ ေရခပ္ေရာက္သည္
ေနေပ်ာက္သည္ထိ လထြက္ထိ။

ႏွမငယ္ကား
ေခ်ာင္းက်ယ္သဲခင္း၊ လက္ယက္တြင္း၌
သီခ်င္းခ်ိဳျမ၊ ပန္းညိဳလွႏွင့္
မရလည္းခပ္၊ ရလည္းခပ္၏။

ေတာစပ္ကပန္း၊ ေခ်ာင္းကစမ္းႏွင့္
ကမ္းပါးကကိုင္း၊ ကိုင္းကဗ်ိဳင္းႏွင့္
သစ္ကိုင္းကခ်ိဳး၊ မယ္ကအိုးႏွင့္
ျပည့္ႏိုး ျပည့္ႏိုး၊ ေန႔တာက်ိဳးလည္း
ညႇိဳးသည္မ႐ွိ အိုးအသိ။

Girl at Shallow Sand Well

she daily collects
a mixture of sand and water
girl fragrant with bark cream

she scrabbles the sand
but the spring is dry

yet hoping to get a pot of water
she will scrabble till the sun goes down
she often goes home
with only a quart or two

never a full pot, the other day
she return home along the bank
with her friends

when the spring flows
the villagers all around
come here to get their water

at that time
she puts leaves in the pot
to smooth the commotion of water
she makes nine or ten trips
till the sun sets and the moon shines

decked with flowers and with song
she claws at the hole
in the dry river bed
whether she gets water or not

flowers at jungle edge, spring in the stream
reeds on the bank, egret in the reeds
dove on the tree, girl with a pot
hoping, hoping the pot will fill
the day declines but not she
the pot knows

the stream may give water
to overflow the pot
but she never tires
the stream knows.
